How to apply
Brush, Roller

Do not apply paint if Relative Humidity is above 85% or temperature is within 3°C of Dew Point. Do not apply if the surface temperature is greater than 30°C or below 10°C, or likely to fall below 10°C during the application or drying period. Stir thoroughly before use to prior to use, and occasionally during use to ensure an even distribution of tin particles. Apply a minimum two coats of Porter’s Liquid Tin by brush, roller or spray. Application method will vary the results achieved, so some experimentation is advised before proceeding with large areas. Touch dry 30 minutes. Allow minimum 2 hours dry time between coats. Allow second (or last) coat to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before burnishing or polishing. Always wear a dust mask, safety goggles and gloves when polishing. Use 000 steel wool (or finer) to gently burnish or polish the entire painted surface. If using a mechanical sander, polish with 500-1500 grade sandpaper discs. Ensure that all areas are addressed to avoid varying sheen levels in the finished result. If heavy polishing is required, apply more than two coats. Multiple coats of paint will build depth and create artistic surface effects when burnished. Results will vary depending upon artistic ability and application/burnishing methods and/or expertise. On interior surfaces Liquid Tin may be waxed for added protection using Porter’s Stucco Wax.
