
METALSHIELD® PREMIUM is a UV resistant silicone modified enamel topcoat. It is high gloss, single pack, air-drying topcoat that is tintable to over 5,000 colours.METALSHIELD® PREMIUM's silicone modified resin offers advanced gloss retention and chalk resistance compared with conventional alkyd enamels.

Air Spray, Airless Spray, Brush, Roller
Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C. Do not apply at relative humidity above 85% or when the surface is less than 3°C above the dewpoint.
Do not overcoat before the minimum overcoat interval or wrinkling may occur. This product is not suitable to be directly applied over galvanised iron or zinc rich coatings.
Pre-painted metal surfaces: Scrap off all loose and flaking paint. Sand all surfaes to a flat finish. Dust off. If previously painted metal surface is in good condition then no primer is required. Treat any bare metal as below.
Aged/Lightly rusted surfaces: Remove any rust by scraping, sanding or wire brushing. Wipe surface with Metalshield Brush thinner to remove any residual grease, oils and dirt. Once dry, apply 1coat of Metalshield All Surface Primer.
New Bare Steel and Wrought Iron: Wipe surface with Metalshield Brush Thinner to remove any residual grease, oils and dirt. Then abrade with a Scotch-Brite® Pad. Wipe clean. apply 1coat of Metalshield All Surface Primer.
Galvanised Iron, Zincalume®: Clean surface with sugar soap and a Scotch-Brite® Pad to remove any grease, oils and dirt. Rinse with clean water. Once dry, apply 1 coat of Metalshield RFU Etch Primer.
Aluminium, Copper, Brass, Stainless Steel: Clean surface with sugar soap and a Scotch-Brite® Pad to remove any grease, oils and dirt.
Rinse with clean water. Once dry, apply 1 coat of Metalshield All Surface Primer.
Ensure the surface has thoroughly dried prior to application.
BRUSH/ROLLER
Apply even coats of the mixed material to the prepared surface. Thin if necessary with up to 50 ml/litre with METALSHIELD® Brush Thinner (965- H0010) to ease application. When brushing and rolling additional coats may be required to attain the specified thickness.
CONVENTIONAL SPRAY
Thin up to 50 ml/litre with METALSHIELD® Spray Thinner (965-H0009) to aid atomisation. Add only enough thinner to achieve atomisation. Apply in multiple wet coats overlapping each pass 50%.

Pressure at Gun: 380-410 kPa (55-60 p.s.i.)
AIRLESS SPRAY
Standard airless spray equipment such as a Graco 30:1 President or 33:1 Bulldog with a fluid tip of 13-15 thou (0.33-0.38mm) and an air supply capable of delivering 550-690 kPa (80-100 p.s.i.) at the pump. Thinning is not normally required but up to 50 ml/litre of METALSHIELD® Spray Thinner (965-H0009) may be added to ease application.
