Dulux Rust Effect is an easy and effective way to give your interior/exterior feature wall a unique point of difference. It can also be used to transform doors and outdoor accessories into a modern design statement.
Simply apply two coats of Dulux Rust Effect Solution over two coats of Dulux Rust Effect Base Paint and overnight rusting will take place. Dulux Rust Effect Base Paint and Dulux Rust Effect Solution must be applied by brush.
Inspire your creativity. As Dulux Rust Effect effect is a chemical reaction, and individual results may vary due to film thickness, application methods, ambient temperature, substrate etc, you can achieve a unique look that is truly ‘yours!’
To achieve an authentic rust effect, prepare by first applying two coats of Dulux Rust Effect Base Paint.
• Apply two coats of Dulux Rust Effect Solution 12 hours after applying Dulux Rust Effect.
• Use a wide brush, using random strokes.
• Do not roll or spray.
• Rusted appearance will begin to develop within hours and will continue to increase over time.
• To accelerate the rusting effect, lightly spray the surface with water two or three times between coats (whilst drying).
• Individual results will vary due to the application method and environment.
• Rust residue may be rubbed off when touched.
• Rust run-off may stain adjacent surfaces.
• To avoid rub-off and run-off seal with one coat of Berger® Jet Dry® Stone and Paving Sealer in natural finish. mixed with water at a 1:1 ratio.
Do not pour leftover paint down the drain.
Unwanted paint should be brushed out on newspaper and allowed to dry, and then disposed of via domestic waste collections.

Leave empty paint containers open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle the container via steel can recycling programs.
Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.
Do not reuse container unless thoroughly decontaminated.
