Dulux Design Concrete Effect is an interior water based paint which is applied by a roller and finished with a steel trowel to provide the refined modern industrial textural effect of polished concrete.
• Dulux Concrete Effect may be applied over an existing paint finish provided the surface is free of dirt, grease and dust.
• Scrape and sand down any loose, peeling or flaking paint.
• Surfaces previously painted with gloss or semi gloss paints should be sanded back to a dull finish.
Previously painted surfaces in good condition:
Dust, then clean with Selleys® Sugar Soap.
Previously painted surfaces with cracks or holes repaired with filler:
Spot prime repairs with Dulux Prepcoat Acrylic Sealer Undercoat.
Glossy surfaces:
Lightly sand to a dull finish.
Prepare
1. To ensure evenness of colour, pour all cans of Dulux Concrete Effect into a clean, dry container.
2. Stir thoroughly prior to use.
3. Before you begin, test your chosen application method on a large piece of board.
Apply
1. Work in small sections.
2. Use a long nap roller to apply to the wall.
3. Smooth the surface with a steel trowel with broad, sweeping strokes, holding the trowel at a 60-degree to 80-degree angle.
4. Be sure to keep the trowel clean.
5. Repeat this process over the entire wall.
6. Apply three coats using the same process.
7. Applying additional coats will enhance the depth and appearance of the finish.
8. The final coat should dry for at least two hours, but no longer than 24 hours, before polishing.
Polish
1. Using 600-grit sandpaper, lightly polish the surface in a circular motion.
2. Use the edge of the trowel to further polish the surface.
3. Apply enough pressure to keep the trowel edge flat against the surface.
4. Be careful not to gouge the surface with the edge of the trowel.
Seal
1. For further protection seal with one coat of Dulux Concrete & Paving Clear Protective Sealer Matt.
Do not pour leftover paint down the drain.
Unwanted paint should be brushed out on newspaper and allowed to dry, and then disposed of via domestic waste collections.

Leave empty paint containers open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle the container via steel can recycling programs.
Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.
Do not reuse container unless thoroughly decontaminated.
