Not to be used for industrial or infrastructural corrosion protection. Refer Dulux Protective Coatings for suitable systems.
Do not over apply. High dry film builds can result in blistering.
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED GALVANISED STEEL
Occasionally an apparently sound old paint will lose adhesion when recoated, particularly if the new paint is darker in colour. To avoid this, check the adhesion of the old paint by cutting an 'X' through a clean area of the film with a sharp knife, press cellulose tape firmly across the cut and rip it off. If the old paint comes off with the tape it should be removed before repainting. Remove dust, grease, and any other contaminant by scrubbing with a solution of Sugar Soap using a stiff bristle plastic brush. Any loose and flaking paint can be removed using a wire brush, taking care to minimise damage to the galvanised substrate. Rinse with water and allow to dry. For unsound areas where the coating has been removed, use a wire brush to remove any red rust and spot prime with 2 coats of Berger Steelite Galvanised Iron Primer. Apply 2 coats of Berger Steelite Roof.
NEW GALVANISED IRON
Wash down with sugar soap using a nylon scouring pad (not a wire brush) to remove any dirt and oil deposits. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
Brush, roller, conventional or airless spray
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad flat stirrer, using an upward lifting action. Application should be in standard temperature conditions (above 10°C and below 30°C). Substrate temperature must not exceed 30°C.
Brush/Roller: Rinse brush or roller in water before starting and use while still slightly damp. Apply two full even coats direct from the container.
Use a medium/long nap roller. Avoid excessive brushing or rolling back into paint which has been drying some minutes.
Airless/Conventional Spray: Suitable for application by all standard spray equipment. Do not thin and over apply. Note: Thinning can reduce the rust inhibiting performance of Berger Steelite® Galvanised Iron Primer.
