Precautions and limitations
This product data sheets shall be read in conjunction with the Dulux specification. *Limitations: Not suitable for surfaces sealed with alkyd and wate-based sealers. Not suitable for vertical surfaces. Product does not reinstate or restore concrete surfaces affected by efflorescence, sealer that has become old, broken down, brittle, affected by severe delamination or has little resin left to be restored. Product will not fix underlying moisture issues. Surface may need to be stripped back and treated for moisture issues if whitening continues to reoccur. Application limitations: • Do not use in high winds or if rain is likely. • Check the nature of any coating that is to be overcoated prior to coating over sealed surfaces. • Not a waterproofing membrane. • Not recommended to seal at extreme surface temperatures below 10°C and above 30°C. Use PPE during application. Refer to Dulux Avista technical data sheets on duluxavista.com.au for more information.
Performance guide
Note: The mixed product has a pot life of 40 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. Mix only enough product (typically 4 litres) which can be applied within the working life.
Surface preparation
Previously painted surface
Dulux Avista Polyaspartic can be applied over Dulux Avista epoxy and flake flooring systems. Overcoating with Dulux Avista Polyaspartic should occur within 48 hours of the application of the base epoxy coating. Refer to Dulux Avista Decorative Flakes or Natural Stone Look Flakes Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for detailed flake application process.
Unpainted surfaces
New concrete floors should be allowed to cure for a minimum 28 days. It is essential that Dulux Avista Polyaspartic is applied to sound, clean, dry substrates in order to achieve maximum adhesion between the sealer and substrate. Remove all oil, grease and loose particles. If the floor is smooth, grinding is advised. This will maximise adhesion.
How to apply
Brush, Roller
Following the required preparation, apply Dulux Avista Polyaspartic using 230mm or 270mm unifibre roller sleeves. Note: a squeegee may be used prior to rolling to help spread material. During the application, the roller sleeves will have to be changed as they will become tacky. After spreading out the material it is important to back roll the floor. Back rolling is done to ensure even application and will help with breaking any bubbles that may have formed from pinholes. On average a roller cover will last approximately 10 min before a replacement is required.
How to dispose responsibly
Unused paint
Refer to Local Council or State/ Territory Land Waste Management Authority for disposal.
Empty paint containers
Do not re-use container.
